Installation

Install TRA on a Windows computer, using the above file.  The Download is an MSI file, which is Microsoft’s standard for software installation.  If asked, you will need to accept conditions to run the installation file, which will require administrator privileges.

TRA uses as number of Microsoft components.  These include two key items, DirectX (for 3D graphics) and Web Components 2003 (for graphs).  You must install these for TRA to run.  These are not included in the MSI file.  Note - TRA uses the .net Framework 3.5.  The installation will look for this, and will take you to a default Mircrosoft website if it is not found.  If this occurs please install the .net framework from here instead: .NET Version 3.5
1. Install Web Components 2003:
Web Components 2003

2.
DirectX - Although you may have a new computer, this version of DirectX is required:

DirectX

or

DirectX (installation from this site)

You need to do the following:

a.

Download the above & run the main redistribution file, as shown below.  This will save all the DirectX files in a single folder (note you have to choose one, so just type \DirectX in a suitable main folder, i.e. C:\Users\Matt \Downloads\DirectX).

DirectXResdistFile

b.

You then need to run the install file from that location. It is the highlighted one as follows: DXSETUP.exe.

Once the setup file has run TRA should open and run.  Any issues with installation please email: support@fire-engineering-software.com
